Here's how to use a blood pressure monitor: Place the cuff around your upper arm or wrist and turn on the device. The cuff inflates and measures your blood pressure. The air then escapes from the cuff. Once the measurement is complete, the result is shown on the display. On average, the systolic (upper) value should be 120 mmHg and the diastolic (lower) value should be 80 mmHg. If your blood pressure readings are consistently higher or lower, you should talk to your family doctor.
