E-Prescription
An E-Prescription is a digital version of a doctor's prescription. The doctor exchanges it electronically with the pharmacy via the patient. It is part of the digitization of healthcare. E-prescriptions help to make the process of prescribing and dispensing medication more efficient and secure.
The E-Prescription contains a QR code, which is issued via the practice software. Pharmacies can scan the QR code from the patient's smartphone or as a printout using the existing barcode scanner. The pharmacy software checks the validity of the prescription. Pharmacies validate the prescription securely and efficiently without storing medical data centrally, thus preventing sources of error and processing the e-prescription flexibly.
