Autumn is hiking season
Soon the leaves will change color again before falling from the trees. Autumn is coming. Many people use this season for hiking. It is no longer so hot and nature is changing. Unfortunately, hiking in warm, humid conditions can cause blisters on the feet due to friction and ill-fitting shoes. Blisters are fluid-filled cavities under one of the layers of skin. The fluid presses on the nerve endings underneath, which causes pain. There are two different treatments: Smaller blisters: Do not open them, as the intact skin over the blister provides the best protection against infection. To reduce friction, apply a plaster or a special blister plaster with hydrocolloid technology to the blister. This can absorb and bind wound secretions if the blister bursts. Larger blisters under tension: Only pierce if the blisters are superficial. To do this, disinfect a clean needle with diluted alcohol, carefully prick the blister, allow the fluid to drain out and let the skin dry a little. Then disinfect and apply a plaster. Preventing blisters: Apply tape or special blister plasters to sensitive areas as a preventive measure. Hiking boots should fit well and be secure at the heel. Break in your new hiking boots and make sure you lace them up properly. Take care of your feet and make them less sensitive by walking barefoot regularly.
