Therapeutic Fasting

Do you want to do something good for your body?

Fasting is one of the oldest methods of cleansing the body. However, it was not rediscovered as a therapeutic treatment until the late 19th century. Fasting is the voluntary abstinence from food and luxury foods for a limited period of time (5 days to 5 weeks). During fasting, it is important to ensure ample fluid intake and regular bowel movements, as well as sufficient exercise and relaxation. Before beginning a fasting regimen, the intestines are cleansed. This can be done using Epsom salt, Glauber’s salt, or an enema. During therapeutic fasting, the fasting person consumes no solid food. In addition, coffee, black tea, nicotine, and alcohol are usually avoided. Juice fasting: Juice fasting is a gentler form of fasting. In addition to 2 liters of fluid per day, the fasting person consumes about 1 to 1.5 liters of juice. This juice should be made from fruits and vegetables and should not contain any added sugar. The juice is sipped in small amounts throughout the day. The advantage of juice fasting is that it provides the body with valuable nutrients. Juice fasting kits are available at our pharmacy.
