Treating Muscle Soreness with Schüssler Salts

As soon as temperatures rise, people start spending more time outdoors again—whether walking, jogging, hiking, or mountain biking. Nature beckons, and people often forget that they tended to neglect their physical fitness during the winter months—and before you know it, the next day brings muscle soreness! But it doesn’t have to be that way. By taking Schüssler salts during and after exercise, you can prevent this nuisance or significantly reduce its severity.

We recommend dissolving Schüssler salts No. 3, 5, and 7—10 tablets each—in about 500 ml of water while exercising. You can also add a splash of apple juice to the drink, and just like that, you have a sports drink ready to take with you in a water bottle. This combination of Schüssler salts ensures you’re optimally nourished and helps minimize electrolyte loss caused by sweating.

In the evening after exercise or the next day, we recommend combining Schüssler Salts No. 8, 9, and 10. This metabolic trio promotes the elimination of “metabolic waste products” that form during exercise and are often the cause of tired muscles or muscle soreness. For best results, dissolve 10 tablets of each of these salts in 500 ml of water and drink the mixture after your workout. You can also drink this solution several times the following day.

For external use on sore muscles, we recommend Schüssler Cream No. 7, which loosens and relaxes the muscles. That way, your athletic outing will remind you not of the pain, but of the memories you made.
